Poster Art - 2024

Overview

This project is a collection of poster explorations that reflect a mix of cultural influences ranging from music, film, and street visuals to personal interpretations of chaos and expression. Each piece captures a different moment, mood, or reference. Some draw from underground music culture, others from iconic pop figures, while several explore abstract compositions driven by instinct and emotion. The visuals are intentionally layered, bold, and sometimes chaotic, mirroring the way culture itself is experienced fragmented, fast, and constantly evolving. Rather than following a single narrative, the project becomes an archive of visual responses shaped by influence, experimentation, and personal taste.

Challenge

The main challenge was translating diverse cultural references into visuals that feel expressive without becoming visually disconnected. With multiple themes and directions, there is a risk of the work feeling scattered or inconsistent. Another challenge was maintaining impact across all pieces. Each poster needed to stand on its own while still contributing to a larger body of work that feels intentional and cohesive. Balancing freedom of expression with a sense of direction became a key part of the process.

Solution

The approach was to treat each poster as a visual exploration while maintaining a shared energy across the collection. Elements such as bold contrasts, layered compositions, and expressive imagery are used to create a strong visual presence. References from music culture, street graphics, and pop iconography are reinterpreted into new compositions, allowing familiar elements to feel fresh and personal. Instead of forcing uniformity, the project embraces variation using energy, tone, and visual intensity as the connecting thread between each piece.

Result

The result is a dynamic collection of posters that function as both individual expressions and a cohesive visual archive. Each piece reflects a different influence or emotion, while collectively representing a consistent creative voice. The project captures a raw and unfiltered approach to visual design one that is driven by culture, instinct, and personal interpretation. It stands as an exploration of how visual work can document not just ideas, but also influences, moods, and moments. "Not designed to be clean, designed to be felt."
